Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon, which included the work Portrait of Dora Mitchell, 1921 by Janet Cumbrae-Stewart. The price achieved of AUD 3,075.00 (€ 1,843.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janet Cumbrae-Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Loving Cup in May 2003 with an auction result of AUD 152,750.00 (€ 84,553.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Dora Mitchell, 1921 von Janet Cumbrae-Stewart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.075,00 (€ 1.843,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janet Cumbrae-Stewart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Loving Cup im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 152.750,00 (€ 84.553,86).
