Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Wierix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Creation and Early History of Man in twenty scenes in January this year with an auction result of USD 403,200.00 (€ 371,339.10).

Die Arbeit The Spirit Of God Soaring Over The Waters von Jan Wierix wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion Master Drawings from a Distinguished European Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 28.556,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Wierix erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Creation and Early History of Man in twenty scenes im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 403.200,00 (€ 371.339,10).
