The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,351.90), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Neck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venus And Adonis, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 18,250.00.

Die Arbeit A portrait of a young gentleman von Jan van Neck wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Home & InteriorsCollections bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.351,90) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van Neck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venus And Adonis beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für EUR 18.250,00 versteigert wurde.
