In May 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A Mountainous River Landscape With A Harbour Town, A Market Scene In The Foreground, A Castle On Top of A Hill Beyond by Jan Peeters. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 38,400.00 28% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jan Peeters have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 66,851.02) in December 2008 for the work Ottoman forces attacking an islet fortress, possibly Grambusa, during the Siege of Candia.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 38.400,00 und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Peeters haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 63.650,00 (€ 66.851,02) im Dezember 2008 für die Arbeit Ottoman forces attacking an islet fortress, possibly Grambusa, during the Siege of Candia beobachtet.
