Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in London held the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve, which included the work An extensive landscape with travelers before a windmill by Jan Breughel II. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 94,612.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Breughel II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Five Senses: Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell in November last year with an auction result of USD 8,634,000.00 (€ 8,363,847.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit An extensive landscape with travelers before a windmill von Jan Breughel II zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 94.612,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Breughel II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Five Senses: Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.634.000,00 (€ 8.363.847,72).
