Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing vessels on a calm sea off a distant promontory by Jan Brueghel I was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 199,918.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Brueghel I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer landscape with tilt-carts in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,980,000.00 (€ 1,823,540.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fishing vessels on a calm sea off a distant promontory von Jan Brueghel I kam im Juli 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 158.500,00 (€ 199.918,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Brueghel I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer landscape with tilt-carts im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.980.000,00 (€ 1.823.540,25).
