This artwork by Jan Breughel II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Panoramic landscape with Travellers and Wagons on a Road, a town in the distance sold for USD 201,600.00 (€ 166,131.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Breughel II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Five Senses: Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell in November last year with an auction result of USD 8,634,000.00 (€ 8,363,847.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Breughel II erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Panoramic landscape with Travellers and Wagons on a Road, a town in the distance für USD 201.600,00 (€ 166.131,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Breughel II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Five Senses: Sight, Touch, Hearing, Taste and Smell im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.634.000,00 (€ 8.363.847,72).
