Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work A cottage by a copse by Jan Baptist Weenix. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,054.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Baptist Weenix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italianate landscape with a shepherd showing a woman his flock in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 248,750.00 (€ 277,129.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cottage by a copse von Jan Baptist Weenix zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.054,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Baptist Weenix erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italianate landscape with a shepherd showing a woman his flock im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 248.750,00 (€ 277.129,56).
