In October 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Portrait of Diederich Janssen Eyken Sluyters (1798-1841) in religious dress by Jan Adam Kruseman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,157.50 45% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Adam Kruseman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rebecca met de geschenken van Eliëzer: an oriental beauty, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 38,650.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Diederich Janssen Eyken Sluyters (1798-1841) in religious dress von Jan Adam Kruseman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.157,50 und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Adam Kruseman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rebecca met de geschenken van Eliëzer: an oriental beauty beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 38.650,00 versteigert wurde.
