The result of USD 400,000.00 (€ 356,157.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jamie Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).

Die Arbeit The Thief von Jamie Wyeth wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 400.000,00 (€ 356.157,07) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87).
