Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jamie Wyeth could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Open Sea changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 57,598.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamie Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jamie Wyeth konnte im August 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Open Sea für USD 68.750,00 (€ 57.598,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87).
