Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Warren Childe could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Portrait of a girl holding a bonnet in her left hand, standing in an interior, a garden beyond changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 300.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Warren Childe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Admiral John Jarvis Tucker, in dress uniform of blue coat with gold-bordered white facings and gold epaulettes; sky background in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,862.45).
