Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,400.00 (€ 47,832.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Walsham Baldock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A gentleman standing beside his hunter, in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 144,500.00 (€ 183,810.31).
