In January 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work The London - Cirencester Royal Mail Coach by James Pollard for USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,913.48). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Pollard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London-Edinburgh Royal Mail coach setting a brisk pace on a summer day in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 124,600.16).
