In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Anenomies, Larkspur And Delphiniums; And Christmas Roses by James Noble. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,468.13), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Noble; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Spring flowers in a glass vase sold at auction in May 2003 with the realized price of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,274.14).
