In March 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Pastoral Landscape by James MacDougal Hart. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,728.69), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James MacDougal Hart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Loon Lake, Adirondacks in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 119,500.00 (€ 101,563.83).

Im März 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pastoral Landscape von James MacDougal Hart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.728,69) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James MacDougal Hart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Loon Lake, Adirondacks im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.500,00 (€ 101.563,83).
