Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coastal Scene With Cattle, New South Wales by James Howe Carse was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,774.31). Other works by James Howe Carse have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2004 by the work A Colonial Family, Mosman 1889 at AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,784.22).

Als die Arbeit Coastal Scene With Cattle, New South Wales von James Howe Carse im August 2004 bei Christies in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.774,31) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von James Howe Carse wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2004 die Arbeit A Colonial Family, Mosman 1889 mit AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.784,22).
