Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Henry Crossland could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work The mountain stream changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 350.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Henry Crossland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gebirgslandschaft Mit Kühen, 1888 Mountain Landscape With Cows, 1888 in May 2008 with an auction result of CHF 6,875.00 (€ 4,237.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
