Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work On The River Lickle, Near Duddon Bridge, Cumbria by James Henry Crossland. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 585.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by James Henry Crossland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gebirgslandschaft Mit Kühen, 1888 Mountain Landscape With Cows, 1888 in May 2008 with an auction result of CHF 6,875.00 (€ 4,237.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The River Lickle, Near Duddon Bridge, Cumbria von James Henry Crossland zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 585,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Henry Crossland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gebirgslandschaft Mit Kühen, 1888 Mountain Landscape With Cows, 1888 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 6.875,00 (€ 4.237,67).
