Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work The Day's Bag by James Hardy, Jnr. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,640.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hardy, Jnr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The midday meal on the moors in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 86,250.00 (€ 138,399.44).

Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Day's Bag von James Hardy, Jnr zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.640,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hardy, Jnr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The midday meal on the moors im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 86.250,00 (€ 138.399,44).
