Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Painting Of Game by James Hardy Jr. was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,227.98). Other works by James Hardy Jr. have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2014 by the work The Midday Rest at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,114.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Painting Of Game von James Hardy Jr. im Juni 2011 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.688,00 (€ 3.227,98) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von James Hardy Jr. wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2014 die Arbeit The Midday Rest mit GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.114,83).
