Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View over the Trossachs by James Hall Cranstoun was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,579.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Hall Cranstoun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Perth and the Tay, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,632.54).

Die Arbeit View over the Trossachs von James Hall Cranstoun kam im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.579,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Hall Cranstoun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Perth and the Tay beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.632,54) versteigert wurde.
