It achieved a price of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,325.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Francis Danby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rescue in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 45,361.22).

Die Arbeit Loch scene with cattle and boats von James Francis Danby wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.325,64) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Francis Danby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Rescue im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 45.361,22).
