Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Indian Princess by James Earle Fraser. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,210.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Earle Fraser achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The End of the Trail in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 1,381,000.00 (€ 1,206,956.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian Princess von James Earle Fraser zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.210,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Earle Fraser erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The End of the Trail im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.381.000,00 (€ 1.206.956,83).
