In May 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA, which included the work Still Life by James Doolin. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,075.50 (€ 628.38), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Doolin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twilight in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 14,201.86).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von James Doolin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 1.075,50 (€ 628,38) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Doolin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twilight im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 14.201,86).
