Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hussars on a track by James de Vine Aylward was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 470.00 (€ 674.69). Admittedly, works by James de Vine Aylward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The New Arrival in March 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,922.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hussars on a track von James de Vine Aylward im November 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 470,00 (€ 674,69) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James de Vine Aylward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The New Arrival im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.922,95).
