Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Surprised by James de Vine Aylward was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,336.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James de Vine Aylward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The New Arrival, which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,922.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Surprised von James de Vine Aylward im November 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 900,00 (€ 1.336,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von James de Vine Aylward mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The New Arrival beobachtet, die im März 2006 für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.922,95) versteigert wurde.
