Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The best of friends by James Cowie was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2002. The price achieved of GBP 493.50 (€ 798.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Cowie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Studio in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,561.44).
