Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Ben Venne From Loch Katrine, Scotland by James Cassie. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,217.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Cassie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bass Rock in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,721.98).
