Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 33,723.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Augustus Suydam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hook Mountain, Hudson River, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).
