Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work King Karl XIII as a child by Jakob Björck was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 20,000.00 (€ 1,904.26). Admittedly, works by Jakob Björck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Drottning Lovisa Ulrika" (1720-1782) in June 2010 with an auction result of SEK 125,000.00 (€ 13,109.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit King Karl XIII as a child von Jakob Björck im Juni 2019 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 20.000,00 (€ 1.904,26) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jakob Björck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Drottning Lovisa Ulrika" (1720-1782) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 125.000,00 (€ 13.109,19).
