Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bab el Khemis, Zaouïa Sidi Khanem - Circa 1940 by Jacques Majorelle was sold in the A Moroccan Winter auction at Artcurial in December this year. The price achieved of MAD 4,086,800.00 (€ 373,878.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as MAD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques Majorelle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Kasbah Rouge (Freija), 1924, which sold at auction in June 2011 for EUR 1,280,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bab el Khemis, Zaouïa Sidi Khanem - Circa 1940 von Jacques Majorelle wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Moroccan Winter bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von MAD 4.086.800,00 (€ 373.878,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit MAD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques Majorelle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Kasbah Rouge (Freija), 1924 beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für EUR 1.280.450,00 versteigert wurde.
