Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work A race for the line by Jacques-Émile Blanche. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,941.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Émile Blanche achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vaslav Nijinsky In 'Danse Siamoise' in October last year with an auction result of USD 2,700,000.00 (€ 2,717,938.39).
