Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Venus and Cupid; Venus, naked seated on a red-upholstered gilt-wood sofa, holding a blue bow and a dove in her right hand and a dove at her feet, two strand pearl bracelet, and winged Cupid dressing her powdered upswept hair with pearls; blue curtain by Jacques Charlier was sold in the IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,202.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Charlier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trois femmes au bord d'un ruisseau tenant une urne in March 2004 with an auction result of EUR 12,925.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Venus and Cupid; Venus, naked seated on a red-upholstered gilt-wood sofa, holding a blue bow and a dove in her right hand and a dove at her feet, two strand pearl bracelet, and winged Cupid dressing her powdered upswept hair with pearls; blue curtain von Jacques Charlier wurde im Juni 2003 in der Auktion IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES bei Christies in London versteigert.
