Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Street Scene With A Market Seen Through A Brick Arch by Jacobus Vrel for GBP 795,000.00 (€ 872,857.14). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Evening Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jacobus Vrel have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2018 by the work A Cobbled Street In A Town With People Conversing at GBP 838,000.00 (€ 939,582.27).
