In December 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Full-Length, In A Black Coat And Hat Holding A Cane In His Right Hand, In A Draped, Colonnaded Interior by Jacobus Levecq for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,553.34). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jacobus Levecq have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Young Man In Black, Half-Length in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 134,349.23).
