Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Jacobo Borges was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,913.49). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacobo Borges - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Esperando A... (Waiting For...), which sold at auction in November 2013 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,342.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jacobo Borges im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.913,49) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacobo Borges mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Esperando A... (Waiting For...) beobachtet, die im November 2013 für USD 56.250,00 (€ 41.342,05) versteigert wurde.
