It achieved a price of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 363,053.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob van Ruisdael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded landscape with a man and two dogs on a path, a cottage beyond in July last year with an auction result of GBP 3,382,500.00 (€ 4,039,305.77).

Die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with shepherds and their flock von Jacob van Ruisdael wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 325.000,00 (€ 363.053,97) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob van Ruisdael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a man and two dogs on a path, a cottage beyond im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.382.500,00 (€ 4.039.305,77).
