Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italianate Landscape In The Roman Campagna With Classical Architecture And Ruins by Jacob van der Ulft was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,769.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob van der Ulft achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Tivoli from the north in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 63,065.72).
