Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Czech Tramway In Prague by Jakub Schikaneder was sold in the European Paintings including German, Austrian & Central European Paintings and The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 54,500.00 (€ 69,326.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jakub Schikaneder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter in Prague in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 438,500.00 (€ 523,038.52).

Die Arbeit Czech Tramway In Prague von Jakub Schikaneder wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion European Paintings including German, Austrian & Central European Paintings and The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 54.500,00 (€ 69.326,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jakub Schikaneder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter in Prague im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 438.500,00 (€ 523.038,52).
