Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Blind Beggar, 1888 by Jacob Riis for USD 750.00 (€ 640.70). This price was achieved in the auction MoMA: Tracing Photography's History at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jacob Riis have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2018 by the work Home of an Italian Rag-Picker, Jersey Street, 1894 at USD 1,000.00 (€ 854.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Blind Beggar, 1888 von Jacob Riis für USD 750,00 (€ 640,70) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MoMA: Tracing Photography's History bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Jacob Riis wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2018 die Arbeit Home of an Italian Rag-Picker, Jersey Street, 1894 mit USD 1.000,00 (€ 854,26).
