Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Double portrait of the drummers J.A. Matot and J. Renier, one holding a flute and an umbrella by Jacob Perkois was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 938.00 (€ 1,096.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Perkois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior With A Grandmother Reading The Bible To Her Family, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,811.53).
