Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Maritime Art, which included the work The Royal Yacht Cleveland, with King Charles II aboard, arriving to inspect the flagship at the Nore by Jacob Knyff. The price achieved of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 61,032.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Knyff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Charles Ii And James, Duke Of York, On Board H.M.S. Triumph, With Three Royal Yachts Off Dover , which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 169,250.00 (€ 194,239.70).
And James, Duke Of York, On Board H.M.S. Triumph, With Three Royal Yachts Off Dover beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 169.250,00 (€ 194.239,70) versteigert wurde.
