Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Ships of the fleet off Garrison Point, Sheerness; and British men-o'war off Dover by Jacob Knyff. The price achieved of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,396.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob Knyff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Charles Ii And James, Duke Of York, On Board H.M.S. Triumph, With Three Royal Yachts Off Dover in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 194,239.70).
And James, Duke Of York, On Board H.M.S. Triumph, With Three Royal Yachts Off Dover im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 194.239,70).
