Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction European Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Self Portrait Sketch unframed by Jacek Malczewski. The price achieved of USD 44,800.00 (€ 41,070.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacek Malczewski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Polish self-Portrait With Muse And Buddleia, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 128,500.00 (€ 154,632.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion European Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait Sketch unframed von Jacek Malczewski zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 44.800,00 (€ 41.070,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacek Malczewski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Polish self-Portrait With Muse And Buddleia beobachtet, die im November 2013 für GBP 128.500,00 (€ 154.632,55) versteigert wurde.
