It achieved a price of GBP 47,880.00 (€ 56,149.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacek Malczewski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Polish self-Portrait With Muse And Buddleia, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 128,500.00 (€ 154,632.55).

Die Arbeit Returning from the Fields von Jacek Malczewski kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 47.880,00 (€ 56.149,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacek Malczewski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Polish self-Portrait With Muse And Buddleia beobachtet, die im November 2013 für GBP 128.500,00 (€ 154.632,55) versteigert wurde.
