Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A warship running inshore by J. Wilkins. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,171.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by J. Wilkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Scene), which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,699.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A warship running inshore von J. Wilkins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.171,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von J. Wilkins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Scene) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.699,85) versteigert wurde.
