Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venetian capriccio by Johann Wilhelm Jankowski was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,045.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Johann Wilhelm Jankowski have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riva del Garda in May last year with an auction result of USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,534.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venetian capriccio von Johann Wilhelm Jankowski wurde im April 2002 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.045,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Wilhelm Jankowski auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Riva del Garda im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.534,81).
