The work Fending off the wolves; and The troika ride by J. Orloff was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2003. It achieved a price of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 1,855.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 62%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by J. Orloff; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Highwaymen; and The Flight sold at auction in August 2008 with the realized price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,325.06).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von J.
