Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Kithen interior by J. Martin for USD 1,495.00 (€ 1,561.52). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by J. Martin have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2005 by the work Castel San Angelo, Rome (Illustrated); And The Forum, Rome at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,023.41).
